Reading List

The TravelLady has read five books since my last post about books on March 3, 2010. For a person with one good eye, that is a lot of reading. (I have a cataract in my right eye and will need surgery soon.) What? You say that there are six books in the stack. That's correct.
Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton was so bad that I read about twenty pages and decided not to waste my time.
Going Rogue by Sarah Palin was excellent and I loved every minute of reading it. I loved the description of life in Alaska and I could sense the beauty of the state.
R is for Ricochet by Sue Grafton had a stupid plot and unbelievable characters. At the end of the book, I wished that I had not wasted my time!
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini was another excellent book that I greatly enjoyed reading. It is a book of fiction and the setting is Afghanistan.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett is the best of the six books. The setting is Jackson, Mississippi during the decade of the 1960's. It gets two thumbs up!!
Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts was read in one day. It contains many photos and projects that the beginner could complete. It will be a reference book in my sewing library.

The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is on my to-see list before I die. Cindi sent this image per e-mail. It was taken today during a flight from Denver to San Diego.
