The Cookout
As the mother of the bride, I wanted to invite Keith's family to our home when they came to Memphis. I planned a hamburger cookout - a perfect summer party. But, the weather did not cooperate with temps close to 100 degrees in my backyard! With a canopy over the patio - the temp was 98 degrees at 6 PM when the guests arrived.Although I have no control of the weather, I felt embarrassed. More about the cookout later.
Mother of the Bride
It's the thought that counts! You were being hospitable and that is important! We could have gone to a restaurant & the air conditioner not work?! The weather "people" say that was the hottest week so far!!
